North Swell is rooted in the rugged Northeast coast where surfing, fishing, diving, and boating shape the foundation of who we are. The coast is our sanctuary, it's where we find our solace and inspiration.  We grew up with a deep respect and admiration for the ocean; we aim to capture that feeling into every stitch of the sensible and sustainable clothing made.

North Swell got it's start as a concept between two best friends who wanted to make something different and more unique than what was out there.  Our focus was simple: make fresh gear our own way; use the best damn products we could find; keep it affordable for all; and use the platform to support and promote beach cleaning initiatives that strive to protect the beauty of our shores.

With that, North Swell established itself in 2017 out the trunk of Uncle Buddha's rusty Jeep Wrangler.  We started making super quality hats and showed them to friends and family, friends of friends, and so on.  After a few months, more and more people began to ask us for North Swell hats and we were selling more than we could make.  In 2020, we got the opportunity to open our first brick and mortar in Mystic, CT, which serves as our flagship location to this day.

With every purchase made, a portion of proceeds goes towards funding beach cleanup efforts. Together, we hope to inspire future generations to take action and get in on the cause. Our vision extends beyond clothing and conservation. We can’t say enough fantastic things about our community.
